Die Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie (GWÖ) setzt sich für ein ethischeres Wirtschaftsmodell ein, in dem das Wohlergehen von Mensch und Umwelt zum obersten Ziel der Wirtschaft wird. Die weltweite Bewegung wurde 2010 ins Leben gerufen und basiert auf den Ideen des österreichischen Autors Christian Felber. Derzeit besteht die Bewegung aus über 4.500 Mitgliedern, 171 Regionalgruppen und 44 Gemeinden. Wir haben aktive Mitglieder in 35 Ländern. Über 1000 Unternehmen und Organisationen haben die Gemeinwohl-Bilanz ausgefüllt. Weltweit sind fast 200 Universitäten aktiv an der Verbreitung der Idee der GWÖ beteiligt. Im Jahr 2018 wurde der Internationale Verband gegründet, der aus 10 nationalen Vereinen besteht.

GWÖ umsetzen

  • Die Gemeinwohl-Bilanz basiert auf der Gemeinwohl-Matrix. Zwanzig Themen beschreiben den Beitrag eines Unternehmens zum Gemeinwohl. Mit diesen Instrumenten lassen sich Nachhaltigkeits- und Transparenzstandards über alle Sektoren, alle Arten und alle Größen von Unternehmen hinweg vergleichen.
  • Nicht nur Unternehmen, auch Kommunen und Bildungseinrichtungen können die Gemeinwohl-Bilanz und ihre sozialen Auswirkungen anwenden.

  • Viele Organisationen haben die Gemeinwohl-Bilanz bereits erfolgreich angewendet. Erfahren Sie mehr über ihre bewährten Verfahren und finden Sie sie auf unserer Karte.

Mit GWÖ-Tools die Wirtschaft verändern

a) Grundlagen und Beispiele

  • Matrix: Modell für die Organisationsentwicklung und -bewertung von unternehmerischen und gemeinnützigen Aktivitäten. Es bewertet und benotet den Beitrag zum Gemeinwohl, indem es 20 Themen in der Schnittmenge zwischen Werten und Interessengruppen bewertet.
  • Good Practices: Broschüre mit Beispielen aus der Praxis für jedes Thema von Matrix Common Good.
  • Unternehmen handeln für das Gemeinwohl und die SDGs

b) Gemeinwohl-Produkt und Gemeinwohl-Index

  • Common Good Product: Wirtschaftliches Instrument, das die Verwirklichung der Grundwerte einer Gesellschaft und die Fortschritte bei der Verwirklichung der von diesen Werten abgeleiteten wirtschaftlichen Ziele misst.

c) Für Unternehmen, Organisationen, Universitäten, Städte

  • Gemeinwohl-Bilanz: Ergänzendes Instrument zur traditionellen Finanzbilanz, mit dem der Beitrag jeder Organisation zum Gemeinwohl bewertet und qualifiziert wird, was eine systematische Prüfung aller Aktivitäten aus einer 360°-Perspektive ermöglicht.
  • Audit und Peer-Evaluierung: Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, Ihre Gemeinwohl-Bilanz zu erstellen.
    1. Arbeitet ein Unternehmen bei der Erstellung seines Berichts mit anderen Unternehmen einer Peer-Group zusammen, so spricht man von einer Peer-Evaluation.
    2. In allen anderen Fällen wird der Bericht durch ein externes Audit bewertet.

The Economy for the Common Good (ECG) advocates a more ethical economic model, in which the wellbeing of people and the environment become the ultimate goal of business. The worldwide movement launched in 2010 and is based on the ideas of the Austrian publisher Christian Felber. Currently, the movement consists of over 4,500 members, 171 Local Chapters, 44 Municipalities. We have active members in 35 countries. Over 1000 businesses and organizations have completed the Common Good Balance Sheet. Worldwide, nearly 200 universities are actively involved in spreading the idea of the ECG. In 2018 the International Federation (IF) was founded and consists of 10 national associations.

Transforming the Economy with ECG Tools

a) Basics and examples

  • Matrix: Model for the organisational development and evaluation of entrepreneurial as well as charitable activities. It assesses and scores the contribution to the common good by evaluating 20 themes in the intersection between values and stakeholder groups.
  • Good Practices: Brochure with real-life examples for every Matrix Common Good theme.
  • Businesses act for the Common Good and the SDGs

b) Common Good Product and Common Good Index 

  • Common Good Product: Economic instrument that measures the achievement of core values of a society and progress made towards economic goals derived from these values.
  • Common Good Index

c) For Companies, Organisations, Universities, Cities

  • Common Good Balance Sheet: Complementary tool to the traditional financial balance, through which the contribution that each organization makes towards the Common Good is evaluated and qualified, facilitating a systematic examination of all activities from a 360° perspective.
  • Audit and Peer evaluation: There are two ways of completing your Common Good Balance Sheet.
    1. If a company works together with other companies in a peer group to produce its report, this is regarded as a peer evaluation.
    2. In all other cases, the report is evaluated by an external audit.

  • Ecogood Business Canvas: Tool that combines the ECG model with the advantages of the well-known business canvas to allow companies and organisations to anchor their purpose and contribution to socio-ecological change in their business model right from the start, or to transform it.
